Although Trump claimed that a deal involving Ukrainian minerals is close to being signed and could yield up to $500 billion, Sky News reported that Zelensky is not inclined to sign the agreement in its current form. According to the report, the deal imposes unilateral obligations on Ukraine without any commitments from the U.S., not even in terms of military or financial support against the Russian invasion. Essentially, Trump wants Ukraine’s minerals but is unwilling to commit to supporting the country’s defense against Russia.
Donald Trump once again claimed that the U.S. has invested $300 billion in Ukraine’s defense, while Europe has contributed only $100 billion. However, according to the U.S. Congress, led by Trump’s party, the actual allocation was $170 billion, of which approximately $119 billion has been used. Notably, around 80% of that amount remained in the U.S., funding the American defense industry to produce equipment sent to Ukraine.
Trump also stated that “either Ukraine signs the minerals agreement, or there will be problems,” adding that he intends to secure up to $500 billion in profits. https://video.nostr.build/cbc8eb28ca4918a99f1141f9ce0e0ca04b22ec9824bd5b513501831f51545737.mp4
