Christmas is coming, and so are opportunities to orange pill your family and friends.

When you start talking about Bitcoin, and you get a look of exasperation, ask them to read the following:👇

Bitcoin enthusiasts, or Bitcoiners, often try to convince others to get into Bitcoin, too. They refer to this process as 'orange pilling', a term inspired by red/blue pill scene in "The Matrix". Contrary to popular opinion, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺'𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴. Since Bitcoin is such a large market, one person's actions won't really affect its price much, and any price increase would only make it harder for them to buy more, anyway.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁, like their friends and family. They see Bitcoin as a tool for protecting one’s wealth, especially when conventional money is losing value due to inflation and other factors. Telling others about it is never about increasing their own wealth, but about 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴.

It should be noted, however, that this does not typically apply to those who speculate with other cryptocurrencies. There are tens of thousands of cryptocurrencies, but none of them are as liquid as Bitcoin, so 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘢 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘦. And unlike Bitcoin, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲, making them far more suited for short-term gambling than for long-term value storage.

Bitcoiners see Bitcoin as an entirely new financial system, one that’s run by everyone and no one, instead of by a few powerful unelected bureaucrats behind closed doors. By getting more people into Bitcoin, Bitcoiners hope to 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 and 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀.

Put simply, Bitcoiners share their passion for Bitcoin not for their own gain, but 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘴. They believe 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻, and that they’re ruining all other parts of society, as well. They want to see a world of prosperity and freedom, and 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦.

So please be patient with your Bitcoiner friend or family member. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝘅 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Bitcoin is highly divisible, so you can exchange your local currency for any amount of it. It might make sense to get a little for your long-term savings, in case it catches on.😉
