Let’s say a home miner is connected to a pool for a set period of time, let’s say a month.
-the pool finds 20 blocks during the period. Is the payout the same under FPPS vs scoring pool ?

My theory, can someone confirm?
-Pool luck > 100%
Scoring pool pays more since FPPS would keep reserves to equalize pay when pool luck goes under 100% later
-Pool luck = 100%
Scoring pool and FPPS pay the same. No reserve needs to be kept by FPPS
-Pool luck < 100% and FPPS has no reserves
Scoring pool and FPPS pay the same. No reserves to give out under FPPS
-Pool luck < 100% and FPPS has reserves
FPPS pays more than scoring pool. FPPS gives out reserves to get to 100%

It’s making me wonder how long it will take to build up a reserve if starting with none, because with a 250 block luck of <100% you’d think there wouldn’t be much reserves.
Definitely:how long it takes is important to know. If there’s never any reserves, as long as you stay online, it’s roughly the same. I also wonder if they look at 10, 50 or 250 block luck
Theoretically? The totals wouldn’t be exact but if you never turn off your miner in that period, from what I’m reading I think it should. But I would love any additional insight if anyone knows more! FPPS is the only payout scheme I’m not super familiar with yet. I’ve always been a hard PPLNS advocate.
My question works only if you stay online during the period of comparison.
Me neither. Not familiar with it. I guess we’ll find out more later today

They calculate the FPPS rewards daily based on all blocks found during a day
Interesting, so there’s no payment if no block is found for that day?
I think that’s where the reserves come in. They would have built reserves from days where pool luck was greater than 100% (if there were any days like that) to subsidize those unlucky days
FPPS rate is calculated based on all blocks (of the whole network) found during the day, not just blocks found by Braiins
He also provided the link to Braiins documentation about FPPS

Weird my reward screen says I made nothing yesterday, but maybe it’s because UTC time just ended and it’s the start of the new day and still updating?
I checked throughout the day. The rewards went up on my end. Counter went back to 0 at 00:00 UTC and now going up again. But same thing I see 0 as yesterday’s reward. Braiins said it could take until 02:00 UTC to update the real rewards for the day
I see the estimated daily reward slightly changing. 2 sats difference 🤣
Ok good I’m sitting here like did I just work my miner for free for a day? lol wouldn’t be the first time
I even changed my hashrate during the day to check if it took it into consideration. Total at the end of day seemed to make sense. Well have to see the final numbers
My numbers make sense. I’m actually making more then I have been these past few weeks on most days
Last block I see is on the 10th. We would’ve gotten nothing for yesterday. Not a bad start
I’m seeing we got this one today
Nice fees!
There was a 9.49 BTC block on December 6th 💰💰💰
Of course I was away that weekend and wasn’t online
That block you showed me for yesterday, you were able to see it from your Braiins dashboard or you searched for it directly on mempool ?
Directly from mempool, we had moved to FPPS by the time we mined it so it won’t be found under “block reward”
I was just wondering if there was some other area of the dashboard where that was shown, now that we’re on FPPS, for information purposes. I guess the information is not obfuscated since it’s available on mempool
🤣🤦🏾♂️
Ah no rewards day lol. Ya happens sometimes
