This corner of the internet isn’t the Scientific Journal or the Writers Club.

People from all ages, backgrounds and cultures exchange pixels back and forth in a variety of formats: text, gifs, videos, etc. Some are carefully crafted, others will look like a 5 year old put it together.

What is language is ever evolving specially in fast mediums like social networks. We even have our own word to refer to a user of Nostr: a Nostrich. And new ones come up every day, as there is no central authority, that we’d recognize anyway, that can set what is acceptable and what is not. English isn’t the language of Nostr, as there’s people speaking in many other languages here unimpeded.

If you don’t want to be flexible, and these broken and made-up words are below you, you’ll be very disappointed with what is transmitted here. This is 100% out of your control, and shaming others or putting up a pedestal for yourself because you speak fancy will only help to alienate yourself.

You are of course more than welcome to speak your mind and share your thoughts and opinions and we’ll do our best to protect that and ensure people who want to tune in to them can reach them.
