I am pretty sure 12 developers could very much change bitcoin. Matter fact they could even change the amount of bitcoin.

Ok. Please explain? My understanding is around 12 core developers. If nobody making changes then nobody is maintaining the code, which means the code is vulnerable to someone(s) exploiting it. Am I wrong there?
They can definitely do that, but it wouldn't be called bitcoin anymore. It'd be called eth.
