Thanks for checking it out. Yep, we all love Dr John’s music in different ways. The song isn’t a stylistic tribute but it was his passing that inspired the idea and imagery. We try our best to avoid sounding generic or exactly like our influences, easier said than done but I hope that’s what come across. I’m the piano/keys player in the band and have spent a long time learning Mac’s style, along with all the New Orleans greats - there’s so much joy and depth in all that brilliant music. Cheers!
