Unpopular opinion: If #Bitcoin needs to moon, for you to do well in life, you're not providing enough value to society.

This. #Bitcoin

Exactly!
#Bitcoin is for saving your excess productivity and protecting + growing its purchasing power over the long term.
Want to make more money? Become more valuable to society.
In many cases you are probably correct, but in too many cases it is simply that the medium of exchange we're being compensated in isn't consistent with the value contributed 🤷🏻♂️
In my line of work, the salary 20 years ago used to be approximately $20000 more than what would be considered to provide a very comfortable quality of life, today it is about $30000 less. The work is the same, but thanks to inflation and salary adjustments not keeping up, the value provided to financial reimbursement ratio is now in a much worse place.
I understand where you're coming from.
My argument is simply that your life shouldn't depend on #Bitcoin going 100x over the next 5 years, to do well in life.

This the single most important reason why maxis hate on Monero.
I’m glad I stumbled across this post.
I agree with this…and sometimes it’s hard to admit.
It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of an assets bull run and I’m definitely guilty of that. I’m tired and I often dream of quitting my job when I should be grateful for it as it is adding some value to the world…and a lot to the C-suites bank account 🙄
If bitcoin’s success was my primary driver of financial well-being, then am I relying on an external factor outside of my control, rather than contributing through innovation and skills.
Definitely for me and my family it is not the only plan.
Thank you for getting me to reflect.
That's exactly right. You really cannot control what #Bitcoin will do and relying solely on its performance. If you do, your life will literally be a rollercoaster. Having valuable skills that you can use to earn a good living is what you can control.
