Score. A guy I use to do a little defensive clearing with said if I want to cut this up that I can have the pile and use his splitter if I want. This is top dollar in my area. Douglas Fir is the hardest of our softwoods and there is a pile of Scrub Oak behind it.
So, how does the hardest of softwoods compare to the softest of the hardwoods?

Good question. 🤷♂️ The only hardwood that I've ever burned in the past was Ash.
Looked it up.
Million BTU’s per cord
Douglas Fir 22.5
Red Alder 19.5 This is a Western hardwood.
Cool. Thanks. Google has everything it seems.
