This just feels so appropriate in light of what’s going on. Let’s keep building longer tables, fam 💚

Why not both?
No need for barricading people in when we have better approaches
It's not about barricading in... Some people are just destructive. They should be kept out if the community agrees. Terrorists, religious/political extremeists, war criminals, murderers, sexual abusers.... Ya know. Walls are good too. There's a reason networks have firewalls and there a reason you lock your door when you go to bed. All's I'm saying. I want nothing more than the biggest table I can build. I'm just saying there is no yin without yang.
Appreciate the thoughtful response. I wasn’t considering the cases you’ve brought up. It’s well said. I wonder if walls are the way to keep a community safe or if there are other ways?
An armed society is a polite society.
But yes, my point was not to say table bad, wall good, just to rebut that walls aren't for keeping people in. People have the right to go wherever they want. If they want to leave, you need look in the mirror. Walls are for keeping people out.
As far as other ways to keep a community safe... Si vis pacem, para bellum. Part of that is passive power projection from the community. Like a wall. There is no offense and defense. Only passive and active power projection. Best have enough passive power projection so you don't need the active.
