If you're running a #Bitcoin #Lightning node, you should look into running a Watchtower.
A Watchtower is a service that monitors your Lightning node for potential channel breaches. If your node is offline or otherwise unable to respond to a breach, the Watchtower can take action to protect your funds.
There are a few reasons why you should use a watchtower if you're running a Bitcoin Lightning node with LND:
To protect your funds from malicious channel partners. If your channel partner tries to close the channel without your consent, the Watchtower can broadcast a "justice transaction" that will restore your funds.
To protect your funds from accidental channel closures. If your node crashes or loses power, the Watchtower can broadcast a justice transaction to prevent your funds from being lost.
To make your Lightning node more reliable. By using a Watchtower, you can reduce the risk of losing funds due to a channel closure. This can make your Lightning node more attractive to other users, and can increase the liquidity of your channels.
A good place to get started with Watchtowers is the https://lightningnetwork.plus website. You can join and participate in Watchtower swaps. These are similar to Liquidity swaps, but instead of opening channels to one another, you're connecting to Watchtowers owned by participants and you're allowing participants to connect to your Watchtower.
I hope this helps!
