It's visually better but I think in practice people in a chat group hate missing messages that were posted in the reply stack. This happens to me all the time on Slack and I hate it.

They don't have notifications for that? Been awhile since I used it.

I have two solutions in mind for this. Will sketch asap.

They dont notify if you are not if you are not already part of the people in the reply.

I think Discord puts replies on the main screen as well to avoid missing things, but their UI makes it really messy.
