It's also custodial. I recommend Phoenix wallet. Self custodial, 12 word recovery phrase (so teaches you mnemonic phrase management) and to open a lightning channel you send at least 10000 sats to the wallet and they charge you 3000 sats, which IMO is a price worth paying for a channel to use
It’s best onboarding experience for a noob. You shouldn’t leave great amounts on it
For lightning: Blixt, Phoenix, Breez. Muun is good too.
I’m using the same three. Also Zeus+Alby to control Alby from my phone.
For cold storage air-gapped coldcard with sparrow connected to own electrum server
On the smartphone blue wallet again with own electrum server and/or Samourai wallet with own dojo
Blue (onchain) + LNtipbot (telegram) linked with Zeus
how do you link Zeus to LN Tipbot?
Go on telegram LNtipbot and type:
/link
It will create a qr code or a string you can copy in Zeus. I did it some monts ago can't remember exactly.
Will search in mu previous notes.. I posted it, will find out.
I believe when you type /link it gives you step by step what to do.
