My girly girl got back at me by taking this gem of me while removing the popcorn ceiling from their new room. Totally trying to suck in the guy. Totally failing.

That is one thankless-ass job. I’ve done it. Just be aware popcorn ceilings applied pre-1978 can contain asbestos. A lab test with a local hygiene company is cheap and worth it.

If you’re fortunate enough to be dealing with originally applied product that turns to paste when soaked with a hand sprayer, it’s not as bad, because particles aren’t liberated as much. But many older ceilings will have been painted over a couple times, making mechanical removal and a lot of suspended particles in the air inevitable.

House is '88 and it does turn to putty when wet. My wife hired a guy to do it for super cheap, and we got what we paid for, so I ended up having to clean up the mess, sanding everything down and patching the holes everywhere, and remove chunks where the guy missed.
