I had a mentor, he gave me opportunities, taught via his experience/ stories. I think his biggest lesson for me was what ever you do, do it well. Take pride in your work.

12th grade High school teacher. Was cool AF, smoked cigs in the janitors closet, always invited people over for steak and taught me how to kayak. He didn't care about school and just liked to help kids discover what they wanted to do. Just a positive guy who met students where they were and supported them, made them feel like human beings

Recently, Christian mentor because I was slipping and going through personal difficulties, he got me back on track and really helped me out in a tight spot. Still does. We meet regularly

Christian pre-marriage couceling was also very helpful for me and my wife. Meet them regularly too

My favorite: Old East European guy who taught me the local language for 3 years straight. We played chess, rolled cigarettes and drank Turkish coffee every day. The grandpa I never had. Miss him
