Mary, a young virgin from Nazareth, was visited by the Archangel Gabriel who told her that she would conceive and give birth to the Son of God, Jesus. Despite her virginity, she humbly accepted God's will, saying, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." She conceived by the Holy Spirit and remained a virgin until she gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem. Her faith and obedience make her a model for all Christians.
