I'll bite the bait

I learnt this yesterday - it's the limit to the benifit of centralisation:

Ashby's Law of Requisite Variety ( cybernetics )

"A controller must have at least as much variety as the system it controls"

ASI is only possible if it has more variety and input-output than humanity. I.e it has to be a more than humanity... engineers have to make utopia.

...just another iteration of utopianism
