Yes, you can turn a regular kind 1 post with media into a "photo story", which makes it publish both picture/video event and then a short form that references (embeds) the media event.
You also have a direct media post option now, which does the opposite, focuses on the media, with filters, adjustments, which then also publish a short form to get more exposure for your media post.
Neat? It makes your media viewable on photo-apps and feed-apps.
