It’s been over two months since my child was born, and I’ve happily returned to being able to wear pants when I want 😊

This means it’s long past time to follow up on what I found to fill my need for a better thigh holster to wear with skirts and dresses.

I never found one, per se. But wearing these cotton bike shorts under dresses and skirts was a game changer:

Nirlon Biker Shorts with Pockets

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PG47QXD

They’re 92% cotton, 8% elastane, which I find comfortable and acceptable enough as a natural fiber maxi. Being skintight biker shorts, they fill the niche of underskirt shorts for comfort even without the pockets, which are just large enough to carry a snub-nosed Smith and Wesson J-frame in a pocket holster β€” meaning most other reasonable concealment guns in pocket holsters will fit with no problem.

This puts the gun on the outside of the thigh, which I was concerned about for no reason. There was no printing, though it might be a concern for clothing that is tight on the thigh. Additionally, since it holds it slightly higher on the thigh than most thigh holsters, which seem to put the gun just above the knee, it feels much safer to wear midi-length dresses, which is great because good floor-length dresses are basically impossible to find unless you are cool with polyester and rayon (again, like my ideal dress, I am a cotton maxi πŸ˜‰)

Holding just the weight of the gun in one pocket, these stayed up very well, though as pregnancy belly grew even more, the waistband needed a little rolling down. Putting loaded speed strips in the other pocket as well seemed a great idea, but proved a little too much weight for the shorts. The other pocket was a handy place to store phone and ID when wearing dresses that don’t have pockets, though, so this is a pro tip even for those of you who don’t wish to carry a gun.

I never tried running in these while carrying, but it held everything securely through energetic walking and 90+ degree angles of sitting.

All in all, highly recommend, 10/10 β€” this one item of clothing helped me stay able to protect myself during a particularly vulnerable time, and has revolutionized my potential wardrobe. I only wish it came in more colors suitable to underskirt shorts, like flesh tones and white. Hope this review helps a bunch of ladies πŸ’œ

Great review😊. It really is tough sometimes for us women to find workable carry solutions.

Super helpful review!

Anyone know if Can Can Concealment went out of business?

My wife has the garter holster from there and she loves it.

But when I check today I can’t find their website and any links I find don't take me there. the only phone number I could find is disconnected.

Sounds indicting. I only remember that the one thing I was considering buying from them was always listed as out of stock.
