For years, I’ve made an effort to “see the other side.” I’ve read Marx, Keynes, books on anti-racism, and explored philosophies on altruism. But this year, I had a revelation: I’ve spent all this time trying to understand perspectives that, frankly, don’t care to understand mine.

When you try discussing opposing viewpoints with someone, it doesn’t matter how much effort you’ve put into understanding their side. They’ll still think they’re right, and you’ll still think you’re right.

I’ve realized that staying in my own echo chamber is not only less exhausting but also way more enjoyable.

probably it is impossible to exit your echo chamber. but it is possible to understand that you are actually in echo chamber and there are millions other echo chambers.
