It's absolutely shocking that there is no significant political opposition against the erosion of online privacy rights that is happening in front of our eyes all across the western world.

You are absoluely right - but lets reflect for a moment:

With Bitcoin we are promoting a public, transparent ledger without privacy and where the Feds and CEX know your withdrawal addresses - and therefore all future (and past) transactions.

Custodial Lightning does not make it better.

Looks like Bitcoin is not coming to help us.

I do not know what to do (except moving away from BTC) - do you?

Do not use CEXs and you'll be fine. Also avoid custodial KYCed solutions.

Be real, 99% of people by on a CEX with KYC.

Getting some tainted darknet market BTC from Hodlhodl is not what i can recommend either.

Peg-in to Liquid (use full Elements Core), swap back into BTC or Lightning. Never sell BTC with KYC.
