Considering how much I read off screens it’s funny I can’t bring myself to read an entire book off one… the UX has always been a bit naff

have you tried epaper? reading from a ipad or similar is very different than a kindle epaper device. it's pretty nice to be able to slip a ton of books in your pocket too.
Yeah I’ve played with a kindle and just didn’t like it… the buttons irritated me and the screen reminded me of an etcha sketch with less interactivity
I also bought a reMarkable 2 recently and was bitterly disappointed at how laggy and sticky it is for a device that widely hailed the best in class
