Someone rambled about the time gap between genesis block being published, January 3rd and the sourceforge upload of 0.1 which was 5 days later. Whoever wanted to mine along had two months prior notice to join Satoshi, Hal of course did, besides there wasn't much resonance from the fairly large cypherpunk mailinglist. So sayeth the scriptures.

I never came across a reasoning or explanation for the delay between genesis and sourceforge upload, has anyone an idea? Some point at this time gap and call it premine, I don't see it that way but curious about the upload delay.

Would count as premine if Satoshi would to move those coins.

By today's standards maybe but 2009 and given the circumstances? Plenty of people were invited and simply nobody cared. An earlier sourceforge upload wouldn't have changed that. But that's why I'm asking if there's any reason given.

He says he was celebrating the Genesis and forgot.

That's lame. I couldn't find his quote on that, do you remember where you've learnt this?

Made it up

Thank you

I feel like the very idea of a premine in Bitcoin is preposterous

Like, with eth and everything that followed, these companies knew they had very strong chances of flipping their shitcoins for profit

With Bitcoin it was a completely open question if it would ever catch on. It’s not as though the earliest adopters said “this will make me rich” but rather they were enthusiastic about the potential for fixing monetary & technological shortcomings of the current system.

And honestly? It’s thanks to satoshi and Hal finney that any of us are here. They and their descendants deserve the fattest stacks!

I would do just the same, referring to the time delay between genesis and sourceforge. I'd let the damn thing run a couple of blocks and see if it bangs before throwing it into the wild. I wouldn't want my code that isn't even supposed to me MY code to be copied and quickly rebranded with hugh fanfare before it had a chance to proof its working

Absolutely

Oh come one #[2] those are my sats anyways. I'm not your mixer!
