I keep hearing people say Fountain is their favorite podcasting app, but every time I use it the search is still completely broken and the UX is confusing and hard to navigate compared to other podcasting apps.

Yep same experience for me, search is wack
Eye completely took it off my phone because it was making my phone at funny downloading files. I wasn't even asking it to.
Yeah, the Phone app seems kind of fishy to me.
I hated fountain. The UIUX is horrible. They also don't let you withdraw funds back from your wallet for some arbitrary and undefined waiting period.
I used to use it but went back to antennapod. It's just not as performant and I have an easier time organizing episodes in antennapod.
Its a shit app. Dunno why people like it.
Because it has Lightning stuff in it. Not good enough for me, though. Apple Podcasts just works.
Laaaame. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing Bitcoin in integration as much as the next person. But liking it solely because it has Bitcoin integration I think is really fucking dumb. Im on andriod so I use antinnapod.
Use AntennaPod.
My primary phone is iOS but Iβll try it on the Android. π€
What do you use then? On the iPhone there are many good ones. Please just don't use Spotify. I've heard Overcast is pretty good.
Why not Spotify?
I have both Spotify and Apple Podcasts, but I never really got into Spotify for anything other than music because it syncs better to my home speakers, and I generally take podcasts on the go.
Apple Podcast app is the ideal. Simple and straight to the point.
Iβm very been using overcast for over a decade. Great app. Solo developer.
I want to like it but literally have all the same complaints as everyone else. I haven't used AntennaPod so Iβll check II out.
Itβs what happens when you listen to your existing user base for UX feedback I think. They are already used to the app so to them tiny improvements make sense while the broader new user has no idea how to navigate easily
Definitely confusing. And it would keep overheating my phone. I always ended up uninstalling it after a few days
I tried Fountain as my main podcast app a year ago. My main metric for a podcast app is, will I get in an accident using it while I'm driving. The answer was unequivocally yes with Fountain at that time. It was constantly messing up my queue or losing my place in the podcast.
I moved to Podverse which supports sat streaming and boosting and is GPL3 licensed. It's not perfect but it gets the job done with minimal messups. I don't feel a need to try closed source Fountain again.
Same I searched for βFrog Talkβ n didnβt find the first or second season ))): nostr:npub1unmftuzmkpdjxyj4en8r63cm34uuvjn9hnxqz3nz6fls7l5jzzfqtvd0j2
