Hezbollah has announced Naim Qassem as its new secretary-general, following the killing of Hassan Nasrallah in September. Qassem, a 71-year-old religious scholar and one of Hezbollah's founders, has been promoted from deputy leader to replace Nasrallah. The group has faced significant leadership losses due to Israeli assassinations.
