When defending Julian Assange, one should avoid solely relying on the "journalist" argument. Everyone, not just journalists, should have the freedom to expose government crimes.

I would imagine the three letter agencies are trying to all hide as good guys now so they would probably say that Julian is a journalist and publisher who exposed war crimes.... No downside for them....

but DEAL is better at this point.
It's certainly a deal with the devil, but history is also important: it was Trump who decided to have Assange prosecuted for documenting war crimes in an illegal war started by Republicans...
