Nostr is good for people who have trust issues. I don’t trust corporate social media. I don’t care who the owner or CEO is. I don’t trust governments to care about free speech and freedom of expression. They broke that trust long ago.
I love nostr because I don’t have to trust any of you to use it.

Nostr is just good. Period. Most people do not recall that the internet was/is decentralized by design. Usenet, IRC, Mailing lists, etc were made so there was no one owner to anything. Facebook is antithetical to that IMHO. On the internet If you don’t like what someone has to say .. you just go the other way and ignore them. On Facebook you get “deplatformed” and banned. That’s antithetical to freedom of expression.
Exactly! That's what the Internet stands for, what it was invented for, in the beginning anyway. But soon came companies and advertising.
I remember perfectly when I installed Napster for the first time in 1999, the first peer-to-peer network (for me), I thought this is it, give back power to the people, it was all just the beginning, very excited. But then came the big tech companies....
