Bitkey’s model is a 2 of 3 multisig. One on the phone. One in the “cloud”. One on the hardware device. No one key can move the funds. The hardware does not send key material to the cloud, which is what ledger has designed for their customers.
At least understand the tech if you’re going to try and FUD it.

It’s opt-in only and the second key comes from the phone. If you’re using a phone to hold keys for your cold storage, you’re not worried about security anyway. The physical hardware device doesn’t send keys to anywhere. The bitkey is one device with explicit trade offs. It’s not being touted as the most secure way to store funds. Ledger is advertised as that and the device sends key material out over the wire.
If you want ice cold storage, neither are your best option. But they’re not the same.
