I have problems sometimes too, but recently had success.

I THINK what I did was reload the page, then used my browser extension to log in.

Not just the nsec and/or password.

I also have taken to starting out clicking the follows+ feed.

Using iris in tandem in desktop. Gotta try gossip and some others too.
