I once rolled back my openSUSE system by several months.
A change I accidentally made that meant some of my packages were frozen, while others kept updating, and it manifested itself way later.
I remember that moment and thought Ctrl+C would save my ass fast enough 😂
Oh no, sounds like a nightmare. Luckily my rollback was only a few days.

It was just a matter of picking another snapshot at the boot screen 😊
Separate /home is great.
It was a bit scary doing the rollback for me, had never used it before.
