Just had this happen: I was visiting a friend's house and was taken aback when his mother said, "Alexa, set timer for 25 minutes," as she worked on dinner in the kitchen. I explained the surveillance issues behind this tech and my friend said, "I know, but my mom has diabetes and it's really good for her to set alarms for her blood checks and injections."
