I had a good conversation about cynicism the other day.

My point then and I’ll reiterate here is that cynicism is the most accurate model to predict human behavior. The cynical model will get people closer to the truth than anything else and it will have the most explanatory power. Not to say it explains everything but it is particularly useful and accurate when looking at authority and what they’re trying to accomplish as they’ll never tell the truth.
