I've tagged nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z a couple times in the last few months about adding that feature to Amethyst but I don't think he saw it. I should just open a GitHub issue about it.
Long hold the zap button, then you can add custom amounts. Also, you can pick custom emojis.

But if you double hit the zap button, you will get a pop up to be Abel to zap with a message. It's a cool feature. They're talking about putting a permanent message so you don't have to type one every time.
Yes, I only use that for large zaps. I long hold to add zapping amounts like 1, 3,9, 21, etc. If you only put one in, then you can one tap zap.
