People say that, but about half of us could play an instrument or two, and most of them were in a band or three, so we appreciated "interesting" stuff. And we had punk, so "sound different" was what counted. We ALL thought we were brilliant, so, though who actually were, made it :-) We also valued music. Most of our money went on buying it. Only rich kids bought the flash clothes.
THIS made it to Number Two in the singles chart. The proper one. Ordinary people bought it. Not art musos.
