Yes, that was a start of communism, and it is madness, I agree. But what I am saying is that it seems somebody in Russia and China used it as a weapon in an unexpected way against its inventors in the west. Ugly and all, but the results don't lie - looks like it was the only thing that worked out.
This fits very well as the final piece in my puzzle: why do guys like Putin and Lavrov seem so reasonable, so smart and so adequate from all perspectives, but at the same time keep soviet times in high regard while they definitely were total madness, and at the same time they do not try to recreate the soviet communism now. If my theory is right, then the puzzle is complete.
