Can you expand further on the centralized approval? Yea dude, this is fucking stupid.

I'm still going to use nostr regardless but for fucks sake, I need forums, communities and topics.

There's no content like there is on reddit. Not much to engage with.

Just people talking to themselves

i explained this else where and might find the post but in short

nostr is distributed and that is why we are here, this means lots of notes and relays and no way to stop anything completely

having things like a subreddit where you have a topic and curators combined in a fixed way is just dumb

one reason is you end up having multiple subreddits to cover the same topic or nuances of a topic because people cant agree on the curation aka moderation, also people dont fall well into one or 2 or 3 buckets of curation

so solution is you seperate the 2, you have a topic ie like a #tag, and you have moderators aka curators, ie lists of people that flag users and posts and annotate and edit and define algos etc

you can still do approval this way but each person chooses their moderation group etc

expanding this idea, your moderation group becomes your community, because you all share such a similar world view and curate in agreement

That makes a lot more sense thank you for explaining that. I agree I really hope they put more fucking effort into it soon

hopefully, keet.io and p2p is looking really good too, something will replace reddit

Isn't keet a chat app though

yep but you can build more with it, rooms can apparently scale to any size now, which for p2p is amazing

chat and forums are quite similar

Ah ok

we are chatting in a thread
