Question for you all: what's the general consensus about Kagi search engine? I've heard it mentioned before in various places, but I am going to give it a try for a few weeks and see what I think about it.

the results are quite good, to me the price is an issue that scared me into not using the service
i'm currently using brave search
I've used brave search and startpage and they're both OK for me (Prefer Brave search)
started using it over a year ago and can't imagine life without it anymore.
the translate and AI access is an added bonus but having a search without a lot of garbage is 🤌

I can't go back. Being able to blacklist sites that post AI slop from my results forever is worth the price of admission in time saved.
It's a search engine experience so good that it'll suck going back to even the best of metasearch engines when my prepaid year runs out; being unemployed fucking SUCKS, I tell you.
Been using it for over a year. Every time I end up using a different search (maybe on a device i'm not logged in), I'm like damn, that experience sucks. I always wanna go back to@npub1xsgymm0ne3vndqpvsvy285qfpu59049t5n5twg9vetmt92cyn95snyzazx.
Kagi will not show you any bullshit ads or artificial rankings. it just shows you what you're searching for.
Just think about it: If you use ANY tool on the internet, one way or another, you are paying for it. It may be paying with your attention, your time, or your data...
With kagi, you pay with money.
I prefer the direct approach.
Also, their translation tool is top notch. The AI assistant is also great. They have PWA for all their tools, which is great.
At least when I need to search for a translation into my native language (Icelandic) I found translate.kagi.com giving me more often a grammatically better result than google translate.
