On the strong gender divide on gun control: Why do we see this effect? I think there are multiple factors at play including that women are generally smaller, less muscular, and less aggressive than men. In the end, I think they are more likely to look to others to protect them, assuming that others can, and forgetting that ultimately this is not an outsourcable job.
Men frequently (though less frequently) think this too, but (some) people’s cultural stories create a role for man as the protector, lowering the likelihood he will adopt the flawed belief: that someone else can provide bodily protection to you.
