They do know, it's an interesting quandary.
Coming from a data centre background, you would NEVER run any server on WiFi for the above (and more) reasons.
However the average person is so used to connecting everything via WiFi that they don't even think of the implications of doing so.
I like everybody else connect phones and laptops via WiFi, but I also connect my desktop via cable and of course all my various servers (Bitcoin nodes, networking equipment, security devices etc).
If they don't allow WiFi, then that may stop people considering setting up a node. But allowing it generates bad practice (like portrait videos becoming a thing due to the iPhone and now a whole industry (TikTok) being born from it.
Interesting to see whether a Wireless server industry grows from this trend and what innovations this leads to 😂
