British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the UK’s largest military aid package to date during a televised remote speech before Ukrainian and European Union (EU) decision-makers. The package, valued at $5.6 billion, has been announced alongside additional sanctions from both the EU and the UK against Russian and Chinese entities and frameworks that support the Russian war effort in Ukraine. Additionally, Prime Minister Starmer reiterated past statements that he is willing to put troops on the ground in Ukraine, but caveated his statement by adding that the right conditions must be in place and such a move must be done in concert with other European powers.
