Yang Hyang-ja, Founding of 'Hope of Korea,' the world's first blockchain political party.

The New Hope Party, led by Representative Yang Hyang-ja, officially established its party on the basis of a blockchain platform on the 26th. As a result, current lawmakers, excluding Representative Yang, were not included in the party formation. At this point, with the general election just nine months away, Representative Yang's party formation is expected to accelerate the movement of the third political force.

Representative Yang held the party's inaugural event at the SME Central Federation in Yeouido, Seoul, and exclaimed, "Let's move into a new era." Starting with this party launch event, Representative Yang plans to establish the "New Hope" and complete the party formation by the end of August.

Representative Yang declared, "We will transform factional logic and corrupt politics into good politics, outdated and inefficient politics into science-based politics, and change the lives of the people by practicing practical politics and politics of everyday life while abandoning privileges." He also stated, "Next year's general election is a process, and the ultimate goal is to govern the country," and revealed that the goal is to acquire governing capabilities by 2027.

Emphasizing the party's operational plans utilizing blockchain technology, Representative Yang said, "New Hope will be the world's first party to operate through a blockchain platform," and claimed that it will lead to a completely new order and culture of membership, candidate selection, policies, and funding based on the transparency, immutability, and stability of blockchain technology. Representative Yang, who has a background as a high school graduate and advanced to the position of executive at Samsung Electronics, appears to be maximizing the image of a technology expert.

Highlighting the recent controversies surrounding the Democratic Party, Representative Yang also emphasized the intention to move away from outdated politics. He said, "New Hope will give up all the privileged positions, benefits, and support of lawmakers," and stated, "Through this, we will also strip away all the privileges enjoyed by the social establishment." Furthermore, he pointed out, "Politics led by the dominant major parties is simply a power game and a struggle for vested interests," and emphasized that if we do not transform factional logic, corrupt politics, outdated politics, and privileged politics, a new era will never come.

Representative Yang plans to promote the introduction of a Nordic-style political school and a self-developed "Shadow Cabinet" educational system. Additionally, the party's vision of New Hope includes operating an independent youth organization alongside the central party, institutionalizing cooperation, creating a just society that resonates with future generations, establishing a transparent and accountable tax system, promoting cooperation and respect in labor-management relations, overcoming low birth rates and an aging population, and building a sustainable Republic of Korea. The party's color is determined as orange, symbolizing "hope."

Currently, the New Hope Party has 1,023 founding members. In addition to Representative Yang, the representative founders include Choi Yeon-hyeok, a professor of political science at Linnaeus University in Sweden, and Choi Jin-seok, an honorary professor of philosophy at Sogang University. Among the current lawmakers, only Representative Cho Jeong-hoon, a proponent of generational transition, attended the event.
