Ok well going by your own car or someone elses, there are two ways although one is more efficient. 1) you can drive to puntarenas and take the drive-on ferry to paquera then continue the drive. 2) You drive up around the gulf between mainland costa rica and the nicoya peninsula (which is where santa teresa is).
