what's the best linux OS? I've only ever used ubuntu but I heard Red Hat is good

Mint is great. Fedora is good too. Just install something and get started. Once you learn to run virtual machines you can try all of the different flavors and narrow it down 👍

Mint will likely be your friend. The answer is most of them can, but the one you choose will define how much leg work you’re putting in to making it work. AI chats will be helpful as well while you’re working out the details.
