Didn’t lend him money. Snapped a great photo of him, asked if he wanted it framed, I sent it out to get done, he got it, loved it, when I told him my cost (all I asked for it, no markup) he said he’d pay me, then tried to return it to me a month later like I’m kinkos and I have an unlimited return policy…

If someone believes your time and work is worth paying for, they can pay you in advance or you can use an escrow service. It’s unfortunate, but this kind of behavior is all too common in the creative industry.
