I refuse to read fiction while I am busy writing.

Other peoples ideas easily cross pollinate with your own.

I am doing something I believe is novel by publishing the story as I am writing it. It sort of forces me to stick to the narrative rigidly. I do edits though.

Not quite novel. Charles Dickens did the same.

Of whom I am a big fan. In my first piece when I mention the parochial office I think of Mr Bumble.
