Liquid is a ghost town. A beautiful newly built city, where nobody wants to live. Why?

Why would one use Liquid instead of LN? Is it a failed product?

Following to understand this; because, I admit, I have never once even read about Liquid. I should at least read the project docs

From what I understand Liquid = Blockstream and Blockstream gives people the ick, like web3 bros.

I don’t think Blockstream is the problem. C-Lightning is a great product, also of Blockstream and they are opposite of web3-like… Maybe it’s really a solution looking for a problem. Fedimint could potentially be more interesting than liquid, if you have to throw in a federation.

Sovryn wiki has a good article from Sergio Lerner and Adam Back on Liquid. If you like to learn more: https://wiki.sovryn.app/en/technical-documents/rsk-ecosystem-comparing-rsk-and-liquid-sidechains

i cannot explain my unreasonable disgust towards liquid. but fortunately Adam is finally admitting that their federation is not attractive to the market. to say the least.

IIts very odd. Rootstock has terrible marketing but gets way more transaction volume than Liquid. Liquid only advertises itself to exchanges who live off shitcoin trading fees. Rootstock actually build protocols like BTC backed stable coin for people in developing countries.

I guess Liquid community is too closed off from the real world.
