The difference with cashu is that the tokens are just an abstraction of satoshis that were deposited on whatever mint issued them. They’re redeemable for LN satoshis on the mint that created them or you can transfer them from mint to mint via LN. You don’t mint Cashu tokens for hodling; you mint them to transact with better privacy than on-chain or even Lightning.

The key with Cashu is that you need to trust the mint(s) you use, and/or create your own mint, the easiest way being to install the Cashu extension on LNBits.
