Buried lots of woody waste in it intially probably with some inverted turf and other organic material I removed from elsewhere then just compost on top grew lots of veg plants in it for years but never dug it over. I was busy building beds elsewhere in the garden so it it got a bit neglected and has been growing dandelions and garlic for the last season or two.
