I’ve seen him three times I think. It’s something you never forget.

I saw him on the tour after Clarence died and he did a haunting tribute during tenth Avenue freeze out. He sang the line “that change was made uptown, and the big man joined the band” and the band stopped, the lights went down except for one spotlight where Clarence usually stands, and silence.

An entire stadium silent during a haunting tribute to the Big Man. I still get goosebumps when I think about it.
