I’ve got more than a few decades on this body, but have found (for me) I have to find activities I really enjoy to keep me motivated. I feel more motivated to do other training and a lot of stretching when I approach it that way. I took up bouldering and pole vaulting.

I get invested in other athletes successes, and it amplifies my investment in myself. The days I really don’t feel like practicing are the days I force myself to go. That approach has really helped me.

I love disc golf and any game really, and Id like to look like Dwayne Johnson but dont have the funds for all the calories required 😭. Do you have people that invite you to bouldet or pole volt with you?

I feel like it’s just a matter of showing up to something I’m passionate about. Honestly, I’ve found it difficult to lower my time preference for future health/performance. So forcing myself to join a PV club or just going to a climbing gym got me on the right track. Part of that for me was understanding my intentions. The social aspect really helped, but I needed to know I could/will continue regardless.
