These things are incredibly small, but can still lift 1100 lbs to orbit. Mass produce them... Make a legit space fleet...
You're right about that distance - it was in extreme elliptical orbit when the pic was taken. A cool thing about getting into elliptical orbits - you actually burn away from the planet, so you aim down, and that gets you into the ellipse.
